Architects of a world in motion
On Grenoble's scientific peninsula, the photonics platform of the French Atomic Energy Commission - AEC (Commissariat à l’Énergie Atomique - CEA) is designed as a hub of synergy, fostering collaboration and exchanges among researchers. The building is a strategic location dedicated to research and production of photosensitive sensors, and houses ISO 7 clean rooms for microelectronics activities.

In detail
Sustainable development approach
The project incorporates several energy-efficient features: solar panels on the roof, heat exchangers for heat recovery, and adjustable sunshades for summer comfort. The overall effect is a significant reduction in energy requirements, while guaranteeing optimal working conditions.
The sober façades respond to the discreet character of the campus, except for the stainless steel box to the west, which houses the offices and a glazed room offering a 180° view. On the lower part of the west gable, the screen-printed glass on the façade features the pattern of an electronic circuit, a nod to the specific research focus of the AEC.
